ISCLH Virtual Seminar on Publication (Oct 9, 2026)
The International Society for Chinese Law and History is organizing an online session on publishing peer-reviewed scholarship in English-language academic journals and edited volumes. The panelists include Professor Nancy Park (California State University, East Bay), an accomplished scholar with an extensive publication record whose work focuses primarily on Qing legal history and administrative and criminal law, and Dr. Yu Liu (Academia Sinica), whose research focuses on the constitutional and intellectual history of twentieth-century China. They will be joined by Professor Thomas Buoye (University of Tulsa), a historian of Chinese law and experienced author who will also be able to provide an editor’s perspective as a member of the editorial boards of leading journals such as Law and History Review and Late Imperial China.
The panelists will discuss their experiences and offer practical advice on publishing articles and book chapters in Chinese legal history across a range of venues.
The event is scheduled for 9:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) on Friday, October 9, corresponding to 8:00 PM Central Time (CT) and 6:00 PM Pacific Time (PT) on October 9, and 9:00 AM Beijing Time (UTC+8) on Saturday, October 10. It is expected to last approximately 90 minutes.
